Stuttgart Kripo is investigating: Binding thief turns himself in to VfB – Bundesliga

When hunting for rescuer insignia, a VfB fan forgot his good upbringing…

As a video shows, VfB captain Wataru Endo (29) ripped his captain’s armband from his upper arm during the storm in the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Saturday. On top of that. The culprit then apparently also showed business acumen, presumably putting the red bandage on the Internet auction platform Ebay for 4,000 euros.

A storm of indignation followed on social networks, with some posting a screenshot of the violent scene on Twitter. The Stuttgart police responded to one of these tweets, writing: “We have forwarded the matter to our criminal police.”

This examined a criminal procedure. But that should be off the table by now.

Because: The bandage thief reported sheepishly to VfB, admitted his mistake and will return the captain’s bandage. The association refrains from legal consequences.

Also because the club would otherwise have to prosecute numerous other souvenir hunters. During the storming of the square, quite a few things broke and were stolen.

The goals were demolished, dismantled and carried out of the stadium. Cut the goal nets and put them in. Other thieves have stolen advertising boards. The substitute benches are also demolished. But probably the greatest damage was caused by the lawn robbers. Because numerous fans took a piece of green home with them as a souvenir, a completely new course may have to be laid. The old turf should actually not be replaced for the coming season. That alone would cost 150,000 euros.

By the way: The bandage from last-minute rescuer Endo is now expected to go into the VfB archive…
