Sports | Football: Vivo snatches its place in the final of the Donadieu Cup on penalties

In parallel with the semi-finals of the Robert Gage Cup, the reserve teams of Vivo and Veynes-Serres faced each other, this Thursday, May 26, during the second semi-final of the André Donnadieu Cup, the reserve cup. It was the locals who won the right to face Dauphin in the final.

However, Arnaud De Marchi’s men had opened the scoring in the first half thanks to a fine shot from Benjamin Gruet at the entrance to the penalty area which found the skylight. The Villeneuvois managed to come back to score in the second half through Santacreu and even took the lead a few minutes later with the goal from Nalenne. Reduced to ten shortly before the final whistle, the locals saw Veynes return at the last minute through Gontard. After a goalless extra time, the fate of the match was decided by the penalty shootout lottery. And in this game, it was Vivo who was better and won to join AS Dauphinoise in the final on June 12.
