Deportivo Pasto defeated América de Cali 3-1 for matchday 19 of the Colombian league, at the Libertad Departmental stadium in the Nariño capital. The volcanic ones took advantage of the red devils’ inattention in the first half and settled the game before half an hour of play with goals from Camilo Ayala, Adrián Estacio and Duvier Riascos.
In the first play of the game at minute 1, Diego Sánchez took a throw-in, Mariano Vázquez de Taco left the ball to Camilo Ayala near the crescent of the area and the former América took a shoe, scoring a great goal from a pica barra for the partial 1-0 in favor of the Pastuso team. América reacted seconds after the goal, but goalkeeper Ederson Cabezas avoided the goal with his fists after the shot by Spanish midfielder Iago Falque.
The local kept control and the arrivals to the rival goal, at minute 20, Gilberto García took a new throw-in but from the other side, the ball was left to Adrián Estacio and the unmarked midfielder took a shoe to score another great goal to Diego Novoa’s right post.
Four minutes later, Edson Acevedo stepped on Uruguayan Facundo Boné in the area and referee Luis Matorel, after being called by Nicolas Rodríguez’s VAR, decreed a penalty. Duvier Riascos positioned himself in front of the ball and scored the partial 3-0 before half an hour of play.
América had a slight improvement, but not what was expected to be able to close the gap, in addition to Pasto slowing down the game, with more possession of the ball in the midfield and a couple of arrivals where Riascos and Boné did not define well, with the first 45 minutes ending with an advantage of three goals in favor of those led by Flavio Torres.
For the second half, América made a change, Esneyder Mena entered for Pedro Bravo, gaining a little on the offensive level and generating another approach with a shot by Brayan Vera, which goalkeeper Cabezas cleared very well. The volcanic ones
his side continued to maintain control of the ball and try to widen the difference.
At minute 58, the Scarlets who wore their alternative clothing, the Albiceleste, managed to put a ball into the area, Mena headed and the ball hit Diego Sánchez’s open arm, the referee Matorel decreed collection from the white point. In the final minutes the Red Devils lost momentum and the Nariñenses were closing the game keeping the round on their feet, to add 22 points in the table and the Americans who were left with 20. In the last date of the all against all of the League I-2022, Deportivo Pasto will visit Deportivo Independiente Medellín and América de Cali will host Unión Magdalena.
