Ruud wins the tournament against Sousa

Casper Ruud won against Joao Sousa in the final and won the Geneva ATP for the second time in his career.

After a disputed final, the world No.8 in the ATP ranking, Casper Ruud, won the final against Joao Sousa in three sets. The Norwegian won the first 7-6, before giving up in the second 6-4. In the decisive third set, Casper Ruud was the strongest to win 7-6 (7-1).

Aged 23, Ruud won for the second time in his career in Geneva and retained his title after that won in 2021. This is the 9th title of his young career. The Norwegian will face the French, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga for his entry into the running at Roland-Garros on May 23. The Frenchman will play his last Paris internationals.
