The return of Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he is far from defining the plans of his long-time teammate Rob Gronkowski for the 2022 season.

“Yeah, that’s not the case right now,” Gronkowski he told TMZ Sports on Thursday, April 28, before the NFL Draft in Las Vegas. “I’m just relaxing, enjoying my time. We will see.”

After Brady came out of retirement on March 13, Gronkowski jokingly said that “there is a high probability” that he will imitate you during a visit a salon in the Tampa area on March 16. Gronkowski has been less engaged since thenincluding a mention of no contract talks with the Bucs thus far in an interview with SB Nation.

“We’re actually further from my commitment prior to my return to football,” Gronkowski told TMZ Sports.

At least Gronkowski hasn’t stopped working out. A photo of him and Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry working out together recently circulated on social media.

“I keep fit a bit, so we’ll see if I don’t lose too much fitness. That won’t be good for me,” Gronkowski told TMZ Sports.

Despite missing five games due to injury in 2021, Gronkowski maintained a high level of performance with 55 catches for 802 yards and six touchdowns.

Gronk’s roller coaster?

Gronkowski said at the salon that he will give Brady “a little scare” since “he did the same thing to me a couple of months ago” at his 41-day retreat. If that’s all Gronkowski is doing, he’s brought everyone else down.

In the interview with TMZ Sports, Gronkowsky discussed his activities off the field, particularly his draft party in Las Vegas, as he clearly took a more humorous tone regarding his future. He even joked that his party might inspire a comeback “because someone will throw a ball to me on stage” during the party.

“Do you think I’ve ever thought about football this week? Hell no,” Gronkowski told TMZ Sports. “Not even remotely.”

“Actually, I’ll practice because there’s probably a soccer ball on stage or something,” Gronkowski added. “That’s when I’ll start my first workouts.”

“I’ll probably catch him, and I’ll be like, ‘Man, I miss football,’ right in the middle of the party,” Gronkowski continued. “And then I might start running everyone over — my brothers, I might run them over. I would make everyone try to tackle me. That could be one of the activities that Gronk Beach is trying out — tackling me on stage.”

Gronkowski even joked that dancing at the party is helping him for football.

“We always work on our footwork, and that’s what always prepared me for football,” Gronkowski said. “As I said, this party may be what brings me back to football for all the moves. [de baile] what will we be doing.”

The Bucs’ stance on Gronkowski

The general manager of the Bucs, Jason lightplans “leave the light on” for Gronkowski as it did for Brady during his 41-day retirement.

“He knows he has a place here,” Licht said of Gronkowski. in an interview with Mad Dog Sports Radio via JoeBucsFan.com in March.

The head coach of the Bucs, Todd Bowlespointed out that things “they are not decided yet, but I feel good about it” regarding Gronkowski and fellow free agent Ndamukong Suh on Sunday, April 24. Suh once joked about his comeback in social networks but has not committed.

“There are things to decide, and we’ll see what the draft brings us, and we’ll continue to work with those guys as well,” Bowles added.
