BOLASPORT.COM – Indonesian doubles specialist Gresia Polii has her own reasons for refusing to appear in the 2022 World Championship.

Since getting the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the women’s doubles with Apriyani Rahayu, rumors of Greysia Polii retiring are increasingly spreading.

This year alone, Greysia Polii has only appeared once, namely at the All England Open 2022 in March.

In the prestigious badminton tournament, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu could only reach the second round.

Rumors of the 34-year-old player retiring were intensified after Apriyani Rahayu was juxtaposed with a new partner on various occasions.

Most recently, Apriyani Rahayu teamed up with Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti who finally won the 2021 SEA Games individual badminton gold medal.

Greysia’s moment to hang up her racket is getting closer to reality after she turned down the BWF’s invitation to appear at the 2022 World Championships.

The 2022 World Championships or BWC 2022 itself is scheduled to be held in Tokyo on August 22-28.
