Rahm wins the Mexican Open

Jon Rahm won the Mexico Open ahead of Tony Finau, Brandon Wu and Kurt Kitayama.

World No.2 Jon Rahm won the Mexico Open on Sunday, counting for the first time for the North American PGA Tour, managing to resist until the end the pressure imposed by his dolphins Tony Finau, Brandon Wu and Kurt Kitayama.

In the lead since the first lap, the Spaniard was still two strokes ahead of the latter the day before. His card of 69 to total -15 was enough to keep him one shot ahead, but he saw Finau and Wu return an excellent 63.

In fact, he gave in and then regained the lead several times on this last lap, to finally keep it by ensuring in particular a complicated par on the N.17.

«It will have been a rather stressful weekend until the endcommented Rahm after winning his seventh title on the tour, his first since the US Open last year.

What give him a little confidence less than three weeks before the PGA Championship, the second round of the Grand Slam is approaching.
