An impressive sport
This event is an opportunity to promote disabled sports and the dynamics of the Region for people with disabilities. So what is wheelchair basketball? They are people with physical disabilities. These people are in wheelchairs and for the rest it is as we know. Adrien Grandson, employee of the regional disabled sports committee. “We are on the same rules as valid basketball regarding the dimensions of the field and the basket so it’s quite impressive.”
The rule of “walking”
The duration of the matches will be 4 x 8 minutes for young people who have under 23. There is all the same a difference with valid basketball pursues Adrien Grandson. “Young people have the right to push the wheelchair twice when in possession of the ball. Once the two pushes have been made, they must perform either a pass or a dribble to avoid what we will call a “walk”“.
We are counting on you to encourage the teams and discover wheelchair basketball on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 May 2022 au Sports Palace and to the Argonaut. Plus, admission is free.
