Causes of death: Payne was killed in a Florida shooting

Shortly after disclosing the news, a statement from the Florida police arrived to give further details of the incident, which partly explains the dynamics of the incident: Payne was shot in the middle of the night (around 1.30 local time) in Orlando, stopping breathing shortly after in a hospital not far from the scene of the accident.
