Con un very short release Suzuki first spoke about the possible goodbye at the MotoGP at the end of 2022. The news came out ten days ago, Monday 2 May.

No reverse ma not even a clear admission of farewell even if the news is confirmed by the reasons for the abandonment (i.e. concentrating resources on the automotive sector and new technologies) and by the thanksgiving-greeting to the workers of the MotoGP team.

These are the words of the Japanese company: “Suzuki Motor Corporation is up for debate with Dorna on possibility to end his participation in MotoGP at the end of 2022 “.

Parole apparently not definitive and that confirm what Dorna expressed on May 3: “Suzuki cannot decide on its own to exit the MotoGP”.

The reasons for farewell

IThe Suzuki statement continues and even if they do not explicitly say so the farewell is confirmed: “Unfortunatelythe current economic situation and the need to focus one’s efforts on the great changes that the Automotive world is facing these years, they are forcing Suzuki to shift costs and human resources to develop new technologies “.

In short, at the basis of the renunciation of the MotoGP world championship, economic reasons linked to the development of new technologies for the automotive market.

In the Suzuki statement, a thought was also expressed for the approx 50 people who work in the MotoGP team: “We would like to express our more deep gratitude to our Suzuki Ecstar Team, to all those who have supported Suzuki’s motorcycle activities for many years and to all Suzuki fans who have given us their enthusiastic support. “
