After two years of absence due to the pandemic, The Claudio García national basketball tournament, organized by the Doctor Azúa school, has returned and is celebrating its 19th edition this weekend. More than 1,000 schoolchildren are participating, from Friday to Sunday, in a competition that brings together a total of 86 teams arrived from different parts of the peninsula such as Pamplona, Tarragona or Burgos, as well as ensembles from the Aragonese community.
An event in which camaraderie and coexistence prevail beyond the results on the field. «It is being a special edition, of reunions. the atmosphere is spectacular», confesses Carlos Hinojar, coordinator of Doctor Azúa. On Sunday, at the award ceremony, the presence of Javier de Diego, General Director of Sports of the Government of Aragon, and of Rodrigo San Miguelwho is an alumnus.
