Ludwigsburg (dpa) – The team of veteran coach John Patrick won the second of five possible games in the derby against ratiopharm Ulm after extra time with 81:77 (69:69, 37:38) and leads in the best-of-five Series with 2:0. With a success in the third meeting on Thursday (7 p.m. / Magentasport) in Ulm, Ludwigsburg would decide the quarter-finals.
As in the first match, both teams played a hard-fought game. The guests were only able to pull away briefly in the second quarter (31:22/15th minute). Ludwigsburg was able to shorten the gap again with a quick intermediate sprint and went into the dressing room with a tight 37:38.
Even after the change of sides, both clubs remained at eye level. In the final section, both teams failed to make the victory perfect in the last few seconds. Ludwigsburg succeeded in overtime. The best shooter was Ulm’s Semaj Christon with 23 points. For the hosts, Yorman Polas Bartolo was the most successful with 19 points.
