The judoka was received this Tuesday by the team from the Sports Secretariat to formalize the creation of the “Olympic Projection” category, within the framework of the Sports Merit Scholarships. Perafán was incorporated into the Olympic project of the Argentine Judo Confederation, with a view to the “Paris 2024” Olympics.
Keysi Perafán has been one of the referents of San Luis and Argentine sports for several years. Multiple medalist in Pan-American championships and located among the best five competitors in the 2021 World Cup in Hungary, the San Luis is one of those designated by the Argentine Judo Confederation to represent the country in the “Paris 2024” Olympic Games. Of course it will not be easy, since she will have to ratify her achievements in different competitions.
This Tuesday she was received by the team from the Sports Secretariat to formalize the creation of the “Olympic Projection” category within the Sports Merit Scholarship program, an initiative promoted by the governor, Alberto Rodríguez Saá, in December 2020.
Until now, the program was made up of the National, South American and Pan American categories. The incorporation of Keysi to the Olympic project promoted by the Argentine Judo Confederation, generated the creation of a new category within the provincial program, which until now only integrates the 26-year-old judoka.
“It makes me very happy to know that the athletes of San Luis are contained and accompanied. This new scholarship gives me peace of mind because it will allow me to meet my expenses in Buenos Aires, such as rent, food, supplementation, among others,” said Perafán after signing the contract.
2022 began with different trips and competitions for judoka. She spent two months in France, 15 days in Brazil and is now waiting for the start of the Olympic qualification in June; Even though she does not have competitions in the short term, Keisy is already thinking about the Odesur Games “Asunción 2022”, which will take place in October.
And although the Olympic dream is latent, Perafán prefers caution: “I’m going to go step by step, fight by fight, giving my best to meet the objectives and be able to be in ‘Paris 2024,'” he concluded.
