Ayumi Tanimoto, who won the 2004 Beijing Olympics in the 63 kg class for judo women, and Ryunosuke Haga (Asahi Kasei), who won the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics bronze medal in the men’s 100 kg class, will be nationwide at the Kodokan in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo on the 4th. We attended a joint training session with elementary school students who will participate in the youth competition (5th) and taught their special skills.

Mr. Tanimoto explained the importance of breaking down before releasing the technique as a point of the splendid Uchi mata that defeated the world’s strongest. He said that the children listened enthusiastically, “I’m glad to see a smile. Don’t just focus on winning, but remember the original intention that judo is fun.”
