Injuring Fajar Alfian at Thailand Open 2022, Yugo Kobayashi Gets ‘Sprayed’ by Fire Dragon Coach

A funny incident occurred when Japanese badminton player, Yugo Kobayashi was mentioned as the cause of Fajar Alfian’s injury in the final round of the Thailand Open 2022.

INDOSPORT.COM – A funny incident occurred when Japanese badminton player, Yugo Kobayashi, was mentioned as the cause of Fajar Alfian’s injury in the final round of the Thailand Open 2022.

Of course, this incident was a mere joke from the coach of the Indonesian badminton men’s doubles, Herry Iman Pierngadi, immediately after Fajar Alfian decided to withdraw from the match due to injury.

In the end, Indonesia failed to place any of its representatives as champions. Meanwhile, Japan became the overall champion with two titles, while Malaysia, Taiwan and China each won 1 title.

The Indonesian badminton team actually placed one representative in the top party, namely Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

With the status of fifth seed, Fajar/Rian entered the final of Thailand Open 2022 after defeating representatives from Malaysia, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik in the semifinals in straight sets.

In the final, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto met the third seed from Japan, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi.

It is believed that this meeting will be exciting considering that both of them have head to head tight, where Fajar / Rian narrowly lead 2-1 from 3 meetings.

The last battle took place at the French Open 2021 where Fajar/Rian won in straight sets 21-13 21-18.

However, in the end, the meeting between Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto vs Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi in the final of the Thailand Open 2022 ended in an anticlimactic end.

The reason was that the match ended early in the first set at 13-4 in favor of Hoki/Kobayashi, after Fajar/Rian withdrew due to Fajar’s injury.
