“I don’t like crying in public”

Yesterday we learned of the tragic death of the former NBAer Adreian Payne, shot in Orlando. Payne, formerly of Michigan State, had been for two seasons the teammate of Draymond Green at college. The latter was upset and after the victory of his people in Game 4, he did not have the strength to hold his press conference.

“I’m overwhelmed by my emotions,” said Draymond Green as he stepped onto the podium. “During the meeting it had dissipated, but now I’m going to go home, sit down and do my podcast to talk about it, because then I can pause and cry if I need to cry. I don’t like crying in public.

I’m just going to announce that me and Hazel (his wife) are going to donate $100,000 to a charity in the name of Adreian.

I call on my Spartans family, Coach Izzo, Magic, Jaren Jackson, Miles Bridges, Mat Ishbia, my entire Spartans family to come out and do something in honor of Adreian. Whether it’s naming a campus after him, providing scholarships for kids in Dayton (where Payne is from), whatever, I’m asking my Spartans family to come together and to do something in Adreian’s name.

I’m going to go home and talk about Adreian, and I’ll talk a bit about this game. That way I can do it at my own pace. I apologize. I’ll give you the best press conference after Wednesday’s game, but I don’t have the strength tonight, I sincerely apologize. Have a nice evening everyone. »
