HSV missed Bundesliga: Nasty malice from Werder against HSV – 2nd Bundesliga

A tweet causes a stir again.

After HSV’s failed Bundesliga return, northern rival Werder Bremen could not resist a tip towards the Hanseatic League.

HSV lost the relegation second leg against Hertha 2-0, which is why they are playing in the second division for the fifth season in a row.

And still has to take Bremen malice!

The club posted a video of their own promotion celebration on the Werder account after Bremen had made their comeback to the top flight by beating Regensburg 2-0 on the last day of the game.

The club wrote: “It would be really insensitive and not very sensitive if someone were to post this video now… Congratulations, Hertha BSC on staying up. We’ll see each other next year in the Bundesliga.”

A short time later, Bremen deleted the tweet again – and even apologized!

In a new message, Werder wrote: “Sorry HSV, our tweet about the outcome of the game was completely inappropriate and unsportsmanlike. From our own experience we know what emotions are associated with relegation. We hope that there will soon be northern derbies in the Bundesliga again.”

Under the new tweet, some Green and White fans complained that while the original tweet was nasty, it was part of the rivalry and was okay.
