Gyeongsangbuk-do Disabled Athletes, De-Plympic Medals Harvest, 1 Gold Medal, 3 Silver Medals

The Korean judo team won silver medals in both individual and team events at the 24th Summer Olympics held in Cassias do Sul, Brazil. Provided by Gyeongbuk Athletic Association for the Disabled

Gyeongbuk athletes who participated in the 24th Summer Olympics held in Cassias do Sul, Brazil (2021 Olympic Games for the Deaf) achieved 1 gold medal and 3 silver medals.

About 6,000 athletes from 20 sports from 79 countries participated in this defilympic. A total of 150 players from the Korean national team (82 players, 22 game officials, and 46 headquarters officers) participated, and Gyeongbuk had 3 badminton and 2 judo players.

Min-seok Kim (Pohang City Hall), who participated in Judo, won the silver medal in the individual event of -81 kg on the 4th and achieved the feat of winning the silver medal in the men’s team event on the 5th with Jun-ho Choi (Posco E&C).

On the 12th, in the men’s badminton match, Seo Myeong-soo (Gimcheon City Hall) showed off her outstanding skills and won a gold medal in doubles and a silver medal in singles.

Jeon Jong-geun, secretary general of the Gyeongbuk Athletic Association for the Disabled, congratulated and encouraged the athletes and coaches, saying, “We will continue to support Gyeongbuk athletes so that they can achieve the results of their efforts in domestic and international competitions.”
