First pickleball tournament in the capital of Cadiz

Cádiz will have a place for pickleball this weekend, since a tournament is held at the Pickleball Cádiz headquarters (Ciudad de San Roque street). Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of paddle tennis, ping pong and badminton. It is very easy to learn and very fun to play. It is suitable for all ages and for all audiences, regardless of age or physical condition.

Pickleball belongs to the Andalusian Pickleball Association, and has the certificate that accredits him as ambassadors of the practice of this modality in the capital of Cadiz. Those responsible for this new sport are pickleball instructors granted by the aforementioned association, which belongs to the National Pickleball Association.



It will be this Saturday, May 28, when the aforementioned tournament is held in the existing facilities in the Calle Ciudad de San Roque, next to BP gasoline in Zona Franca, They have four indoor courts.

It should be noted that Leading international pickleball figures will take part in the event, like Carlos Pérez, current number 1 in Spain who travels from Madrid to be part of the tournament; Andreas Kopkau, Top 5 in Europe and owner of the sports brand Yoorna, who came from Germany; Virginia Lainez, in the TOP 5 in Europe and also travels from Madrid; as well as Carlos Gamiz, current number 1 in Andalusia, who comes from Seville.

This tournament is classified as level 2 within the RAAP (Andalusian Pickleball Association Ranking), since more than 30% of the players are not local, which means a great achievement for Pickleball Cádiz because it is the first tournament organized since the inauguration of the facilities at the end of last March.

At Pickleball Cadiz, players do not have to worry about the material: rackets and balls, since they are given free of charge as another incentive that encourages to practice this new sport that is on its way to being Olympic.
