Field battle and several arrests in Seville before the Europa League final

In the hours leading up to the Europa League final at the Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in Seville, the National Police have arrested several fans of the Frankfurt Eintracht and the Glasgow Rangers for riots and assaults. The events took place in a crowded fight that took place in the streets of Seville. The Andalusian capital is full of fans of both teams, many of them without tickets to attend the final this evening.

So far no serious injuries have been reported as a result of these incidents. These riots are not new in Seville. In March, fans of the German team and also of English West Ham already starred in fights on the streets of the city when they faced, respectively, Betis and Sevilla in the round of 16 of the Europa League.

During the quarter-final match against Barça, more than 30,000 Eintracht fans already populated the streets of Barcelona and many of them entered the Camp Nou, despite the club’s failed attempts to avoid a white tide in the stands of the stadium. In the Catalan capital, however, the aggressions were not of the same magnitude as those that took place this Wednesday in Seville between fans of the German team and the Glasgow Rangers.
