It should be one of the most beautiful moments in his career!
On Sunday it’s on. After the game against VfB Stuttgart (5.30 p.m., live DAZN and HERE in the ticker), Julian Nagelsmann (34) will hold the championship trophy in his hands for the first time in his career. The bowl will be presented for the first time by a woman – DFL boss Donata Hopfen (46).
The Bayern coach is looking forward to it: “I’m looking forward to seeing the bowl up close and holding it in my hand when we get it. I’m assuming that Manu (captain Manuel Neuer; editor’s note) will give it to me.”
Before that, he wants to get bowl tips from Thomas Müller (32/extended until 2024). It is already the eleventh championship for the original Bavarian – a record!
Nagelsmann with a laugh: “It’s in my back to lift the bowl. Maybe I’ll do a few stability exercises to make sure everything is safe. I don’t think it takes any more preparation. But I’ll ask Thomas, who then has it in his hands for the eleventh time. He must know…”

Does the master medal have a special place at Nagelsmann?
The coach reveals: “My son loves medals. I’m assuming I’ll give it to him. He always has a lot of interesting places where he keeps them. I’ve scraped a few out of my boxes from the past – there hasn’t been a significant one yet, but he doesn’t care, he’s happy anyway.”
