In the fuss surrounding goalgetter Robert Lewandowski, who is willing to change, Bayern President Herbert Hainer has ruled out an immediate farewell.
“Robert Lewandowski has a contract with FC Bayern until June 30, 2023. And he will fulfill it,” said the chairman of the Munich supervisory board on “Merkur” and “tz” (weekend edition).
Lewandowski had informed the club bosses of the German record champions that he did not want to extend his contract, which expired in summer 2023. The striker reportedly wants to join FC Barcelona after this season. The Spaniards are apparently offering the 33-year-old a three-year deal.
Lewandowski will play Bayern’s last game of the season at VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday and will be awarded the Bundesliga top scorer for the seventh time.
More to come.
