Sporting de Gijón is left without its scorer against Unión Deportiva Las Palmas. Djuka will miss the final match of the season as he will undergo surgery for a scaphoid fracture in his left wrist. The operation will take place this Wednesday at the Begoña Hospital by Antonio Maestro, head of the club’s medical services.
Sporting itself has detailed that Djuka suffered this injury at the beginning of the current season. The rojiblanco striker was dragging this physical setback, which was aggravated after suffering a severe bruise in the injured area in the match against Huesca played in El Alcoraz three weeks ago, says the club.
Sporting, through a statement, details that “the footballer made a great effort to be available to the coaching staff in the last two days.” Now, the player and the doctors understand that it is time to solve the problem definitively, with the aim of being fully recovered for the next preseason. Real Sporting has already informed the Montenegrin Football Federation of this situation, which wanted to count on Djuka for four international commitments in June.
