CUERNAVACA, Mor., May 11, 2022.- Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco inaugurated the state stage of the 2022 Basic Education School Sports Games, where dozens of girls, boys and adolescents will compete in ten sports disciplines during the next few days.
In addition, it delivered 70 sports kits to Preschool, Primary and Secondary schools, which contain materials to practice different physical-recreational activities that will contribute to the development of students, both academically and physiologically, benefiting around 17,000 500 students.
The protocol act took place this morning at the Centenario Sports Unit, in Cuernavaca, a space in which students from Preschool, Primary and Secondary levels gathered, who stated that they were prepared to play their best role and obtain the first places, as well as They were accompanied by mothers, fathers and teachers.
The head of the Executive Power pointed out that in his administration they continue to promote education and sports to train children and youth with values such as responsibility, respect, solidarity, tolerance, in the same way, promote teamwork, as well as habits of hygiene and health.
Cuauhtémoc Blanco recommended the participants to trust in their dreams and persist in making them come true, since with constant work and determination it is possible to achieve them.
“If you have reached this place it is because you seek to be the best every day, the only thing I ask of you is to fight, prepare and succeed, everything is in your mind about what we want to do in life, great athletes, students, better girls and boys, also thanks to the mothers and fathers who are always supporting”, he explained.
For his part, the general director of the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos Indem Morelos, Germán Villa Castañeda mentioned that “this Government does not turn its back on children and youth of Morelos, on the contrary, we form a community with the institutions of Basic education. Mr. Governor, we thank you for your support. With the sports kits, students in the state benefit, this is a historical fact.”
Eliacín Salgado de la Paz, director of the Institute of Basic Education of the State of Morelos – IEBEM, commented “after two years of absence in public spaces, today we meet again to enjoy an unparalleled display of talent, represented in different sports disciplines, both individual and group, also with artistic, cultural and social activities that manage to bring together children from all over the state”.
To develop fair games, Katherine Maldonado and Hugo Santiago Fernández, captains of the sector 7 soccer teams, took the sports oath; in the same way, Valeria Fuentes Carrillo, head of timekeepers in the state stage of athletics, made the oath of judges.
At the end of the opening ceremony, in which 350 men and women participated in Athletics, Chess, Badminton, Basketball, Soccer, Handball, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Baseball and Table Tennis, students from the three educational levels lit the cauldron installed in the stands of the stadium.
This event was attended by Mónica Boggio Tomasaz Merino; head of the Government Office; heads of secretariats, Samuel Sotelo Salgado, from the Government; Víctor Mercado Salgado, from Mobility and Transport; Sandra Anaya Villegas, of Administration; Luis Arturo Cornejo Alatorre, from Education.
Isaac Terrazas García, coordinator of the Indem Sports Development Area; Miguel Castañeda Santana, deputy director of Physical Education of the IEBEM; Gabriela Bañón Estrada, general secretary of section 19 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE); Osvaldo Aguilar Martínez, member of the National Executive Committee of the SNTE, and Daniel Fernando Domínguez Ocampo, municipal president of Zacualpan de Amilpas.
