COBACH 8 has a new dome thanks to the Municipality

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Chihuahuan community through the Participatory Budget in its 2021 edition, Mayor Marco Bonilla inaugurated a dome-type roof on campus 8 of the Chihuahua State High School College (COBACH), which covers the handball and basketball.

The students of this noble institution witnessed the unveiling of the plaque and the inaugural ball launch of said dome, which was built with an investment of more than 2,700,000 pesos, a work that will benefit thousands of Chihuahuans, as is the student community, administrative staff and even the visiting teams that come to compete against the local students.

In his inaugural message, the Mayor referred to this work as an important factor in creating more competitive schools that manage to boost the student community, as well as pay for the support of sports and the dignity of spaces.

Likewise, he shared with the students that being young is an advantage and an opportunity to do great things, for which he exhorted them to follow their dreams, since, with better schools, students will be able to trace routes for their professionalization.

The director of Public Works, Rodolfo Armendáriz, explained that this dome-type roof construction was reinforced with three-dimensional reinforcement, making it more stable, with measurements of a professional handball court 40 x 21 meters, being the first of its kind in educational institutions. .

This roof has tubular steel structures, in which internal and external LED reflectors were installed, the irrigation system was relocated and replaced, and paint was placed for the game lines and the institution’s logo.

Four basketball boards were placed, as well as the construction of an access ramp to the court. The work took four months to complete.

For his part, the general director of COBACH, Marco Licón, thanked the municipal authorities for the investment in this type of works that, in addition to benefiting the students, also benefit the community in general, for which he reinforced his commitment to continue working hand in hand with state and municipal governments to create better spaces that promote the future of young people.
