Clementi oro in a “Made in March” final

The Marche great protagonists in the weekend of Lido di Ostia, with PalaPellicone hosting the Italian Junior Judo Championship. Great satisfactions came from the -100 kg. Category, which saw an all-Marche final between Edoardo Clementi, standard bearer of Judo Samurai Jesi-Chiaravalle, and Jean Carletti, former title holder, standard bearer of the Judo Club Camerano which thus sees the possibility vanish. to hit the fifth Italian title.

Clementi reached the decisive appointment for the crown by overcoming the preliminary Pool D, which also included Francesco Pio Borsa – judoka from Salerno – and Umbrian Riccardo Tartaglini, as well as Simone Sbrogna of Olympic Judo Forio d’Ischia beaten in the next round. Access to the final arrived by passing Francesco Basso (representing the Carabinieri) who subsequently reached the podium – together with the Sicilian Luca Lo Iacono – through the repechage board.
For Jean Carletti, the final instead passed through the qualification in Pool A (beaten by Davide Giuseppini of Judo Carrara) which was followed by the statements against Joey Gasparini (Sports Team Treviso) and Gabriele di Giuseppe of the Polisportiva Yubikai Roma.

The victory of Edoardo Clementi in the match that was giving away gold is yet another demonstration of the excellent quality level achieved by the “Made in Marche” athletes. Jean Carletti, silver at these Juniores Championships, had the bronze medal around his neck a month ago at the European Cup Under 21 in Lignano Sabbiadoro while on 23 April, in Rome, Clementi and Riccardo Verdecchia (exponent of the Judo Club Sakura Osimo ) had respectively placed 2nd and 3rd in their categories in the A2 Italian Cup, also winning the deserved black belt.
