Carolina Mejía supports the development of Judo

Mayor Carolina Mejía thanked the dedication of the DN judo tournament and highlighted the development of this sport.

The mayor of National District, Carolina Mejiapromised to embrace judo to contribute to its development in neighborhoods and other places.

Mejía stated that, just as he works with other disciplines in different parts of the National Districtwill do so hand in hand with the judo association of the National District and the Dominican Federation of that discipline (Fedojudo) to launch an immediate execution plan.

Judo is a formative sport, which contributes to shaping children and young people with discipline,” assured Mejía, at the inauguration of the National District judo tournament dedicated to him.

“We are going to work together to bring judo to the neighborhoods,” insisted the mayor, highlighting the large number of children and young people in the National District tournament held at the National House of Judo in the Olympic Center.

Mejía spoke with Gilberto García, president of Fedojudo, and thanked him for his contribution to this sport.

The technical director of the Women’s National Volleyball TeamMarcos Kwiekproclaimed that he will go to the League of Nations with 14 players, which he has already chosen and where experience and youth will be present in the first rounds of the league.

According to a press release, Kwiek said that the 14 players who will be part of the team for the Nations League are the youngsters, Geraldine González, Angélica Hinojosa, Vielka Peralta, Madelinne Guillén, Gaila González, Janeris Rodríguez, Estefany Rabbit and Larismel Martínez. They will be joined by renowned athletes, Gina Mambrú, Yonkaira Peña, Niverka Marte, Camil Domínguez and the sisters Brayerlin and Jineiry Martinez.

“The Selection Project is in the process of being renewed, it is preparing for all the tasks of this 2022”, said the technical director of the group, Kwiek.
