Although the two athletes from MTV Ingolstadt just wanted to get a taste of the new age group, they were able to impress at the Upper Bavarian, South Bavarian and Bavarian Championships and to win for this championship highest in this age group to qualify.

In the Weight class – 60kg hatte Pavlos Karazelidis initially a very good start and was able to defeat Edgar Batt (JC Bad Säckingen) and Ben Oberender (TV 1848 Erlangen). In entering the final, however, he had to admit defeat to the later winner Darwin Schneider (Budo Club Karlsruhe).
In the consolation round and in the third fight, he then defeated Maximilian Lucantoni (TSG Backnang) prematurely and thus secured the bronze medal.
In the Weight class + 66kg had to Stavros Fachiridis lost in the first fight against Yackob Jebeli (PS Karlsruhe) and continued fighting in the consolation round. Here he first wins against Alexandru Gaius (SV Gold-Blau Augsburg). In the fight for 3rd place he then met Luis Stenger (DJK Aschaffenburg), who was still a bit too strong for him and so he fought his way into the new age group MU 15 in the first year great 5th place. Eduard Grams, who looked after the fighters at the edge of the mat, was very satisfied with the performance of the two MTV fighters.
