Before Wednesday’s game, Krankall, his parents and four of his six siblings visited the field at Yankee Stadium, where the boy spent time with pitchers Gerrit Cole, Jordan Montgomery and Nestor Cortésreviewed Pix11.

Krankall played catch with Cortes and enthusiastically received fistfuls of gum from the players, team officials said. “Dominic Krankall, 6 years old, He recently suffered severe burns, but he is an absolute warrior! We are very excited to have him here at Yankee Stadium for a special day.” the team posted on its official Twitter account.

Bridgeport police are still investigating the cause of Krankall’s injuries. No charges have been filed at this time.

According to the version of his family, he was playing in the backyard of his house with other neighboring children. Within seconds he was back around the corner yelling: ‘Mommy, they set me on fire’”, narrated his sister Kayla Deegan.

According to her, the attacker was an 8-year-old neighbor who broke into a shed on the property and somehow gained access to gasoline and lighters, and then called little Dominick to his side to hurt him. “What he did was pour gasoline on a tennis ball, took a lighter, lit it up and just threw it right in my brother’s face, and then turned away from it and watched it burn,” Deegan said. The family also said that this incident was not the first time that the alleged stalker has caused injuries that have sent him to the hospital.
