The only meeting of the quarter-finals of the French Championship to end in match 3, this Bourges – Lattes-Montpellier was expected this Friday evening. Beaten in game 2, the Bourges players upheld their rank as the best team of the regular season by winning 86-69.
In a long undecided match, Tango made a first difference at the end of the third quarter with two three-point baskets (Eldebrink and Guapo) and a last successful shot before the buzzer by Elin Eldebrink to take the lead (63-58) in an incandescent Prado.
The hard part was done since the fourth quarter was one-sided with Tango taking advantage of an all-terrain defense from Lattes-Montpellier to give the last stab with a still dominant Isabelle Yacoubou (16 points).
In the semi-finals, Bourges will meet the reigning champion Basket Landes, while the other semi-final will pit ASVEL against Villeneuve-d’Ascq (May 17).
