BLAST Premier Comes Back to Portugal First Time Since 2018

The BLAST Premier series is coming back to Lisbon, Portugal for the first time since the last meet-up in Portugal back in 2018.

Blast Premier Spring Finals Set to Take Place in Lisbon

The BLAST Premier has easily been one of the most important fixtures on the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fixture. It’s an event so massively popular with fans that even Betway Australia parent company is sponsoring it because it realizes the potential of this meet-up and what it means to players who are really looking to carve out a career and a name in esports for themselves. Anyway, BLAST has been one of the most consistent tournament events out there and players love it.

Therefore, we see an increasing number of people joining the series, more academies spawned in and around it to give the opportunity for up-and-coming gamers to realize their potential, and more. Now, the Blast Premier Spring Finals will be moved to Lisbon, Portugal, which will provide players with a lot of action in-person. Portugal is known for its warmth towards the CS:GO community and the locals will be happy to have the BLAST return to the country.

The last time BLAST was hosted out of the country was in Altice Arena back in 2018, which welcomed live crowds ahead of a difficult few years to follow. Yet, BLAST has held its end of the bargain and has used the short hiatus in live events as an opportunity to dramatically elevate its offer and create new chances for players to participate in even more worthwhile events that were better remunerated and offered more opportunities to grassroots.

Tempting Prize Pools All Over the Place

Speaking of teams, the upcoming meet up will have several prominent teams, including BIG, Team Vitality, OG, FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere, G2 Esports and others. Two more teams will be coming through qualifiers. The prize pool for the upcoming event is also considerable so you would need to consider this one as well. There is $425,000 on the line, which makes it particularly good for any team to try and win the lion’s share of this amount.

The event is naturally a long way off, set for June 15 through June 19 which means that players will have all the time to prepare. The event is important as it’s a stepping stone for the rest of the BLAST Premier Series events out there which command similar prize money and not only that, but they enable teams to qualify for the Grand Finals held once every year and that fetch even bigger prize pools.

Even though the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community is fairly small when comparing it to League of Legends or Dota 2, the prize pools are very comparable, especially when you account for the player count. Overall, BLAST is doing A LOT for the community, and this is a fact.

Players who are interested in adding more value to esports and CS:GO will definitely want to participate in BLAST’s events as it allows them to not just secure a fat prize pool – but also contribute to the overall vibrancy of the CS:GO competitive ecosystem. BLAST is great and it’s coming back to Portugal this summer.
