In their fifth meeting, Graeham Luttor’s team continued this series with an 11:0 victory – despite an appealing pitching performance by Cardinal Moritz Widemschek. But his opponent Ryan Rupp once again presented himself strongly. After a home run by Moritz Riedmann, the Indians went into the fifth period with a narrow 1-0 lead. When Ian Breitenfelder took over for the Cardinals at the “Mound”, the Indians were able to set strong accents on the offensive. The Dornbirn Indians finally prevailed 11:0 in the seventh guild according to the Mercy Rule.

In the second meeting of the day, Jayson Wilbur delivered a good game for the Cardinals and this time also received strong defensive support. In a pitching-dominated game, neither team could write until the seventh inning. Once there, the Indians scored the first run, but the Cardinals promptly had the right answer ready. In the eighth section, the ailing Lukas Bickel came into play. The Cardinal, who was plagued by a torn muscle fiber, landed the base hit that decided the game. Jayson Wilbur eventually closed the game in the final inning to give the Cardinals their first win of the season. (cth)
