The winner of the main round clearly prevailed against Brose Bamberg in the first quarter-final game on Friday evening with 114:89 (61:45) and takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
Johannes Thiemann was the best thrower in Berlin with 19 points. The second meeting will take place again in Berlin on Sunday (6 p.m./Sport1 and MagentaSport). “I’m happy about the win,” said Thiemann after the game at MagentaSport: “It was an offensive game. We can play it even smarter defensively.”
In the evening the Telekom Baskets Bonn will play against the Hamburg Towers and Bayern Munich against the Niners Chemnitz. The last quarter-final series between the MHP giants Ludwigsburg and ratiopharm Ulm starts on Saturday (8.30 p.m. / MagentaSport).
