Basket Landes and Bourges on a trip to the quarter-finals of the Women’s League

At the start of the Women’s League quarter-finals, all the teams playing at home enforced sporting logic and won on Saturday evening for the first leg. The two finalists of the Coupe de France, in particular, had a very quiet evening.

The recent winner of the trophy at Bercy in a dantesque match (91-88 after 2 overtime), Basket Landes, showered the Flames Carolo de Charleville (87-64) thanks to a fine offensive display and a big skill at 3 points (12/26). For the defending champion, an evening whose outcome was known from the break (50-31), marked by the performances of an untouchable quartet: Marie-Eve Paget (18 points), Marianna Tolo (14), Kendra Chery (16), Marine Fauthoux (16 points at 6/7, 4/5 at 3 points off the bench), while Céline Dumerc, 0 point, still cracked 7 assists. On the Ardennes side, only Evelyn Akhator (21 points) has seen the light of day.

Montpellier au pain sec

Montpellier did not manage to exist against the leader of the regular season (99-67). A formation of Bourges which remained on nineteen successes in a row in LFB (the last on the floor of the Héraultaises) and thinks only of the final title. The Gazelles, after a great first quarter (26 points scored), ran in slow motion (41 points throughout the rest of the match), clumsy (39% overall skill against 55% for Bourges), non-existent in rebound (44- 25 for Tango) and without solutions except for Sydney Wallace (25 points) and Haley Peters (17).

Chevaugeon launches Asvel

The female Asvel did not have much more trouble against Roche Vendée (92-77), after a balanced first quarter (25-21 in favor of the locals).
