“Ducati Lenovo” driver Banjaja started this unconvincingly after the successful end of last season, not being in the top three in the previous five stages.

On Saturday, the Italian qualified for the track record and led the race from start to finish in Sunday’s race, successfully holding last year’s champion Fabio Quartararo (“Monster Energy Yamaha”).

The fierce battle for third place was won by Spaniard Aliès Espargaro (“Aprilia”), not allowing his titular compatriot Mark Marche (“Repsol Honda”) to climb the podium for the 100th time in his career. Jack Miller from Australia remained fifth in the winning team, while Spanish Hoan Mirs (Suzuki Ecstar) took sixth place.

Quartararo with 89 points, Espargaro with 82 points and Enea Bastianini (Gresini) and Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) with 69 points are the leaders in the overall World Cup standings.

There are 21 stages in the calendar this season, and the next one will take place in two weeks in Le Mans, France.
