Anfield Moments Have Fun Thinking Liverpool Win

Jakarta

The final week of the Premier League 2021/2022 was full of drama. There were tension-boosting goals, epic comebacks, as well as celebrations that were misunderstood. Public Anfield had time to think Liverpool champion.

The distance between Manchester City and Liverpool is only one point ahead of the final week. That opens the door to tense moments as the action on the pitch.

When Pedro Neto scored Liverpool’s goal to put Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 up in the fourth minute of the match at Anfield, the home team’s supporters were shocked. They have an increasingly steep path to pursue Man City.

Things got even more tense at half time, with Sadio Mane’s goal making it 1-1 at Anfield. Meanwhile at the Etihad, Man City are two goals down without reply from Aston Villa!

The dramatic atmosphere added as the minutes progressed, towards the end of game time. At Anfield, Mohamed Salah made Liverpool turned 2-1 in the 84th minute and celebrated like they were champions.

Daily Mail said, Mo Salah could not be blamed for not knowing exactly how the situation was in the Man City match in the second half. Salah indicated knowing that the Citizens had turned 3-2 ahead from a gesture from one of the supporters in the stands while celebrating his goal.

Sky Sports footage also showed an interesting moment in the 85th minute of the match at Anfield, shortly after Salah put Liverpool ahead. Red’s fans cheered.

Some hug happily. Some clapped their hands with joy. Some raised their hands in the air as if celebrating. It was later discovered that there were rumors spreading that Villa had scored the third goal against Man City.

“There were cheers, although we don’t know the exact reason because Man City, to our knowledge, are still three goals against two. I’m not sure if a false rumor has spread,” said Rob Hawthorne’s match report as reported by the Daily Mail.

It was also stated that there were those who suspected that Jürgen Klopp was consumed by the rumors, so he was seen hugging Thiago Alcantara on the sidelines. But there are also other allegations, that the hug was just a form of sympathy and Klopp’s way of comforting the injured Thiago early in the second half.

Meanwhile on the bench, when Anfield cheered cheerfully in the midst of an uncertain situation, two Liverpool players still looked cool. There was Takumi Minamino who asked his surroundings to remain calm. Also Virgil van Dijk who looks unaffected by the situation at the stadium.

In the end, of course, as is well known, Liverpool impressively won 3-1 through a comeback. But the title belongs to Manchester City, who also came back and won 3-2 over Aston Villa.
