Ademola Okulaja, former Barça and Girona basketball player, dies at the age of 46

BarcelonaFormer German player Ademola Okulaja has died at the age of 46. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, in 2008 he suffered from spinal cord cancer which he overcame, and was able to return to the tracks until his retirement in 2010. The causes of death have not been made public.

During his professional career, Okulaja wore the shirts of Casademont Girona (in two stages) and Barça. In addition, the winger played at the Dawn of Berlin, the Unicaja, the Benetton of Treviso, the Pamesa Valencia, the RheinEnergie of Cologne, the Khimki, the Etosa Alicante and the Brose Baskets. The former player was a key member of the German national team in the 2000s, where he shared a team with Dirk Nowitzki and won the bronze medal at the 2000 World Championships.
