2022 Asian Games in China Postponed!

Originally, the 2022 Asian Games would be held in Hangzhou, China in mid-September. Unfortunately, the event has officially been postponed!

Reported from AFPThe 2022 Asian Games are planned to be held from 10 to 25 September 2022. Through an official statement, the biggest multi-event event in Asia has been officially postponed.

“Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) (also known as Olympic Council of Asia-ed) has announced that the 19th Asian Games, originally scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China from September 10 to 25, 2022, will be postponed,” reads an official statement. OCA.

The reason for the postponement of the 2022 Asian Games is allegedly due to the wave of the Omicron variant of the Covid pandemic that continues to be dangerous. So for the sake of the athlete’s safety, the event was finally postponed and the meeting would be held whether to continue in China or elsewhere.

“This decision was taken by all stakeholders after careful consideration of the pandemic situation,” the OCA statement continued.

“The new date for holding the Asian Games will be decided as soon as possible,” he continued.

The OCA also said that the Asian Youth Games, which were scheduled to be held in December in the Chinese city of Shantou, would also be postponed.

The Hangzhou government said in early April all 56 competition venues had been completed and trials continued as the lakeside city prepared to host more than 11,000 athletes from 44 countries and regions.
