The women’s badminton team won the grand final after a 6-hour battle against the strongest China and became the owner of the ‘Uber Cup’ trophy for the first time in 12 years.
The national team won the final of the World Team Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, with a match score of 3-2.
The national team, which was led 1–2 by Gong Hee-yong and Kim Hye-young in the 4th doubles, and Kim Hye-young won and returned to the starting point, and the 5th singles runner Shim Yu-jin defeated Wang Ziyi, ranked 15th in the world, 2-1 to solve the final puzzle.
Lee Kyung-won, the current coach of the national team, Seong Ji-hyeon, who played a key role in winning the 2010 Malaysian Games, was thrilled to rise to the top both as a player and as a coach.
