WTA Stuttgart: Iga Swiatek gives Aryna Sabalenka no chance in the final

The final was not at the highest level at first, but Swiatek nevertheless gained clear advantages.

The 20-year-old took a 4-1 lead and had few problems wrapping up the first set shortly afterwards.

And the second set also showed a clear picture: Sabalenka made too many mistakes, while Swiatek acted more and more confidently – and after an hour and 24 minutes used her third match point.

The favorite was more mellow than Sabalenka, especially when it came to big points. Swiatek made four breaks from eight break points and kept her service for the entire game.

“This title means a lot to me because this week showed me that I can win tournaments even if the preparation wasn’t perfect or I don’t have too much time to get used to a new surface. If I concentrate on my game concentrate, everything is possible,” explained Swiatek.

Potapova rushes to her first title as a qualifier

In Istanbul, however, there was a little tennis fairy tale. Anastasia Potapova took the title as a qualifier. In the final, the Russian defeated her compatriot Veronika Kudermetova 6:3, 6:1.

It was the first tour title ever for the 21-year-old.
