Sixteen sports, two thousand hours of competitions, twelve days of music. The AteneiKa torch is rekindled – Sport, Music and You. From 1 to 12 June the Cus Cagliari and the citadel of Sa Duchessa reopen their doors after two years to host the eighth edition of the festival. Sports competitions can be attended by students enrolled in 2021/2022, doctoral students and postgraduates, those enrolled in university masters, teachers and technical administrative staff: go-ahead to join, with deadline next May 13.
Sixteen sports on the pitch: athletics, badminton, 3 vs 3 basketball, 5-a-side football, table football, soccer tennis, Fifa e-sports, chess, fencing, tennis, table tennis, volleyball with the four novelties dodgeball, teqball, teqvoly and touchtennis . The athletes will represent the six faculties of the University of Cagliari: Biology and Pharmacy; Engineering and Architecture; Medicine and Surgery; Science; Economic, Legal and Political Sciences; Humanistic Studies.
AteneiKa was born in 2013. Attendance numbers have been constantly growing: from 7,500 in the first edition to over 80,000 hits in 2019. In addition to the numbers, the exhibition offers an opportunity for training, growth and the creation of a new network for everyone. the volunteers involved in organizing the event. Between 2020 and 2021, AteneiKa has been able to adapt with the “AteneiKa Village” project, an open village, a square available to the neighborhood community and the university population.
