Tracy McGrady not convinced that Andre Iguodala has a place in the Hall of Fame

In recent years, among former NBAers who have entered the Hall of Fame, the one whose presence is most divisive is undoubtedly Tracy McGrady. First nerd, he does not have the CV of many players who are in the pantheon, with in particular only one first round spent in the playoffs and in addition in a Spurs team where he was at the bottom of the bench. In a few years, there is the case of a player who should cause a lot of debate, and the debate even started a few years ago, it concerns Andre Iguodala. 3-time NBA champion, Finals MVP, All-Star, Olympic champion, world champion, All-Defensive Team, Iggy has a very nice CV, but he was never the franchise player of the teams where he won.

For T-Mac, if there is absolutely no doubt about Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson et Draymond Greenhe does not seem convinced by the Iguodala case.

“It’s debatable,” Tracy McGrady told NBC. “It’s hard for me to put him in the Hall of Fame when there are some guys like Shawn Marion, Jermaine O’Neal, some of these guys I’ve played with who aren’t considered Hall of Famers. Famous. So it’s hard for me to put him in the Hall of Fame.

He’s a talented player, he’s one of those guys you don’t have to put systems in place for, he’s such a cerebral guy, he just knows how to play. Whatever the coach needs from him, he will provide it. Whether defensively, he will make stops, contain the best opposing attacker, or score, bring you 20, 25 points, he can do it. Or facilitate the game. He’s simply a player who can have an impact on the game without you putting systems in place for him. »
