INDOSPORT.COM – Three mixed doubles pairs at Cipayung National Team failed to go further at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships. The coach, Amon Santoso, revealed an evaluation for his students.

PBSI is known to have sent three national mixed doubles at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships which will take place from 26 April – 1 May 2022 in Manila, Philippines.

They are Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Adnan Maulana/Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.

Unfortunately, none of them were able to go far until at least the semifinals of BAC 2022 which took place today, Saturday (30/04/22).

The only best achievement was the quarter-finals which were won by the world number 20 pair, namely Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.

However, their pace was stopped at the hands of the Chinese pair, Wang Yi Lyu/Huang Dong Ping (3/China) with a score of 13-21, 11-21.

Meanwhile, Adnan Maulana / Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso first stopped in the last 16 after being defeated by the world number 2 Chinese pair, Zheng Si Wei / Huang Ya Qiong with a score of 11-21, 13-21.

Meanwhile, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati had to run aground in the first round or the top 32 after being defeated by the Japanese giants, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (2/Japan), 5-21, 12-21.

As a coach, Amon Santoso evaluated the results, which ensured that PBSI athletes in the mixed doubles sector had to go home without a medal.

“For Rinov/Pitha apart from yesterday’s game, it’s been a good performance. Only in the opening service, especially Pitha, there must also be improvement in their defense,” said Amon from the official PBSI release received INDOSPORT.
