Third and final simulation of the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft

We take one last look at how the first round of the upcoming NFL draft pick could play out

The wait is over, and on April 28 we will witness how 262 young people will fulfill their dream of becoming professional American football players by being selected during the 2022 NFL Draft.

The best event of the offseason of the NFL will allow us to see the emotion that the commissioner of the best sports league in the world will generate, Roger Goodellwhen I mention the name of each one of these boys who have given everything with their universities to be there, waiting for the long-awaited ticket that will turn them into professionals and future sports stars.

I have had the opportunity to talk with some of them as Matt Corral, Drake London, Nakobe Dean, among others; and I have been able to notice his emotion for being in Las Vegasbecause they have had to go through a long journey full of joy and sadness, but all that effort will be rewarded when they are selected.

It’s time to enjoy a great 2022 Draft, which we hope will be full of emotions and surprises. Here I present the third and last installment of my Mock Draft 2022:

Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

The Jaguars will be looking for a player who has an immediate impact on the team and that is Hutchinson, the best pressure specialist for this Draft. He is very fast and strong, we saw him overpower opponents heavier than him with his strength or elude them with his speed. Plus, he had a great finish to his college career by getting 14 sacks. He will undoubtedly put opposing quarterbacks in check.

Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia

His great performance during the combine put him in the sights of teams looking for a powerful defender, but the best thing is that Walker is one of those players who gives everything for the team and does not give up on any play. He is ready to shine from day one.

The Houston team needs to improve in every line and it will be a difficult decision for their first pick, but I doubt they will pass up Alabama offensive lineman Neal, a strong and very technical guy, destined to be a franchise tackle in the team he reaches. .

Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida State

There is a very good group of defensive players and although two specialists in generating pressure have already been chosen, the Jets still have two great options on the table: Johnson and Kayvon Thibodeaux, the first being the one I consider the best option due to his mobility for get to the pin and stop the run.

Ikem Ekwonu, OL, NC State

Daniel Jones needs protection at all costs and the one who can give it to him is Ekwonu, who is also an excellent player to protect the carries. He is fast, agile-minded and very strong. The Giants have a very interesting prospect in front of them.

Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

Willis had a very good combine and I think it will help him to be the first quarterback selected in this Draft. Although he still needs polishing, he showed that he has a very good arm and agility to make the running plays, so he would be a good fit for a team that hasn’t been able to solidify the quarterback position.

Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

After protecting Jones, it’s his turn to give something to the offense and it will be Buckeyes receiver Olave, who is one of the best route runners of his generation, also has great speed and explosiveness. Not since Odell Beckham Jr. have the Giants had a wide receiver who makes the big plays and Olave could be a great pick, as he finished his college career with 35 touchdowns and 2,702 receiving yards.

Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia

With the departure of Foye Oluokun, the Falcons will look for his replacement in the Draft and they will select Dean, who is a great linebacker and I consider him the most versatile defensive player in the draft, reading the plays and capable of stopping the run, cutting the pass and be in cover.

Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

Drew Lock isn’t exactly a reliable quarterback, but he has NFL experience and will be the starter next season; however, in this pick they could opt for Kenny Pickett, although I think they will let him pass and take the most talented cornerback in this Draft.

10. Jets, via Seahawks

Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU

And in their second pick of the first round, the Jets will go for the best cornerback available at the moment, and with “Sauce” Gardner out, the next option is Stingley Jr., who in his first season as a collegiate had six interceptions.

Drake London, WR, USC

The Washington team no longer needs to look for a quarterback, they have Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke, so they will seek to give them weapons up front, so they would go for Drake London, a receiver who is 1.96 meters tall and has a lot of agility to avoid the mark of his rivals.

Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

The most important position they have to improve is cornerback, so they will pray for Gardner or Stingley, but it is very difficult, so they will choose McDuffie, a tough and fast player, always present in coverage and very versatile.

Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

The Texans might be lucky Thibodeaux, a feared monster among quarterbacks, is still available. He finished his career with 19 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. He still has things to polish, but those from Houston would have the opportunity to select him.

Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa

With the departure of Bradley Bozeman, the Ravens will have to look for his replacement in the Draft, which will be easy if Linderbaum is available, a center who is very intelligent and is attentive to every aspect of the play, in addition to having great agility.

Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

The Philadelphia team needs more talent at linebackers, they already have Haasan Reddick, so adding Lloyd will be a great addition.

Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

With the trade with the Eagles, the Saints will have access to a better receiver, which would be Williams, who finished his collegiate career with Alabama with 15 touchdowns and 1,572 yards, also has a receiving average of almost 20 yards, so the quarterbacks they will be able to drop their arm and have a reliable player receive the ball. He is an athletic receiver with the ability to get away and leave his rivals behind.

Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

The Chargers have focused on designing a highly competitive team and can add a great piece such as defensive tackle Davis, a player who, at 1.98 meters and 154 kilos, has surprising agility and speed, which helps him get there. to the quarterback or stop the run.

18. Eagles, via Saints

Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

Although they have dropped a couple of positions, the Philadelphia team could still have access to a very good receiver in Burks, who had a good finish with Arkansas by adding 11 touchdown passes and 1,104 yards through the air, averaging 16.7 yards per reception. .

19. Saints via Eagles

Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

It seems that the trade with the Eagles was like the planets aligning, since in their second pick they will be able to have the left tackle they need with Cross, who has quick footwork and great quality when it comes to defending the pass.

Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh

Perhaps the Steelers will be lucky enough to find Pickett down to the 20th pick, which would be the perfect gift for the team, whose search for the franchise quarterback began with the departure of Ben Roethlisberger. It’s not the best crop of quarterbacks, but they can’t pass up a prospect like Pickett.

Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson

One of the positions to fill by the Pats is that of cornerback and they would still have the possibility of having a good prospect like Booth on the table, who is fast and has great skill with the ball.

Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

With the departure of Davante Adams, the Packers will look for his replacement in the Draft, and if they can’t move up to pick a better receiver, the best option available will be Wilson, who is quite talented and exploited his potential in his third year as a collegiate Add 12 touchdowns and 1,058 receiving yards.

George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

The Cardinals would opt for the pressure specialist from Purdue, who with his 1.93 meters of height and 124 kilos of weight will impose in front of the offensive line.

Kenyon Green, OL, Texas A&M

The Cowboys need a reliable offensive guard and that would be Green, who is a very versatile and reliable player, especially when it comes to covering the pass, to give Dak Prescott an advantage.

Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

The Bills need to improve the cornerback position and while many of the top prospects will no longer be available, they still have Elam, who is very adept at defending the pass and protecting his zone.

Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan

The Titans could select left tackle from Central Michigan, who is very skilled and extremely powerful at stopping opponents, protecting the quarterback a lot.

Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College

The Bucs would bring Johnson’s intelligence and agility to their offensive line, which would help support not only Tom Brady, but the running backs, as he knows how to open up space for them to make the big play.

28. Packers

Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa

Already with their receiver selected, the Packers would reinforce their offensive line with an aggressive Smith, who is excellent protecting the run and opening spaces.

Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Like the Packers, the Chiefs will be looking for a replacement wide receiver following Tyreek Hill’s departure to the Dolphins; and thanks to the fact that this year’s class of receivers has talent to spare, they will be able to select Penn State’s Dotson, who went from low to high in his collegiate career, which culminated with 25 touchdowns and 2,757 passing yards.

30. Chiefs

Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota

Despite the fact that several edge rushers have already been selected, Mafe would still be available to be chosen by the Chiefs, who will find in him an explosive player at the start and who closed his career as a collegiate in a great way.

Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia

The defensive tackle would go down very well with the Bengals, mostly because of his speed and effectiveness in putting pressure on the opposing quarterback, even getting a few sacks.

David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan

To close out the first round, the Lions would select Ojabo, a player who still has some polishing to do but has proven to be effective in rushing and sacking. In his last year he had 11 sacks.
