The talented ‘kids’ of Colombian football

In the Colombian League, the all-against-all phase of the first half of 2022 is nearing the end. Each matchday has been injected with a dose of young talent that has left flashes of good football in the matches.

Several teams in the tournament have bet on the sports academy and have ‘laid their hands’ on those who stand out the most in sports and can support the first team.

Some of them have already had experience with the Colombian National Team and others have been key for their clubs in international tournaments.

El País features some of the youngest and hottest players in Colombian Professional Soccer.

Enrique Camargo (Cali)

Born in Santa Marta and 20 years old, he has become one of Deportivo Cali’s talented players in their first line of midfielders.

Camargo made his debut in the ‘Azucareros’ against Deportivo Pereira in the last game of the final home runs of 2021. He was already champion with the Verdiblanco team.

In this 2022 he received the trust of coach Dudamel and has responded well for a position in which the Venezuelan coach could not decipher.

Enrique, in this 2022, debuted in an international tournament in the Copa Libertadores and has started against Boca Juniors, Corinthians and Always Ready.

Jóider Micolta (America)

The scarlet striker made his professional debut in 2022 at the age of 19 after receiving the trust of coach Juan Carlos Osorio.

Micolta, with the Reds, has played 13 games in the Colombian League and 2 in the South American Cup, for a total of 15 games, 612 accumulated minutes and one assist.

The winger’s last game with the ‘Red Devils’ was on April 10 against Nacional, when he started the game and came off at the beginning of the second half.

Jóider is one of America’s promising youth players and hopes to have the vote of confidence from coach Guimaraes.

Daniel Ruiz (Millionaires)

The ambassador player was born in Bogotá and is 20 years old. He carried out his training processes at Deportivo Cali and Fortaleza.

In 2020 he scored his first goal as a professional against Llaneros in the B tournament.

That same year he was presented as a reinforcement of Millionaires (in September). With the ambassadors he has played a total of 61 matches between national and international matches. He has scored 8 goals and has made 9 assists.

His first goal for the ‘Blues’ was on June 20, 2021 against Tolima in the first half final.

In this edition of the 2022 League, he has been one of the young references and a key piece for coach Gamero in his team’s play. Millionaires acquired 80% of the pass from him for $350,000.

Yaser Asprilla (Envigado)

The Chocoano, without a doubt, has been one of the revelations that Colombian soccer has had in recent years.

The midfielder made his debut at the age of 16 with Envigado in a match against Medellín for the Colombian League.

On January 17, 2022, his transfer to Watford of the English Premier League was confirmed.

With the orange team he has played a total of 29 games and has scored 6 times.

This 2022 came the call for the Colombian National Team by Professor Reinaldo Rueda for the friendly against Honduras in the United States.

Yaser made his debut in that match with the ‘Tricolor’ having entered for Juan Fernando Quintero. Today he is one of the prospects of the FPC and the Colombian National Team.

Tomas Angel (National)

Born in Medellín and 19 years old, he is part of Atlético Nacional. The man from Antioquia carried out his training processes in the United States.

In 2020 he reached the minor divisions of the ‘Verdolaga’ club and in 2021 they made the signing of his first professional contract official.

On March 6, he scored his first goal with Nacional in the league duel against the Águilas.

The son of Juan Pablo Ángel has played a total of 3 games with the paisas and has scored only one goal.

Tomás was already champion with the greens in 2021 by winning the Colombia Cup against Pereira.
