The Provincial Council will bring minority sports disciplines closer to the municipalities with the Urban Sport itinerant track

Monesterio has been the first town where the Urban Sport sports court has landed. It is a removable track that will be for a week and that will take the Diputación de Badajoz to the different municipalities of the province.

The same, installed in the multipurpose pavilion, has been inaugurated this afternoon by the president of the provincial institution, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, who has not hesitated to point out that this Urban Sport track is one more tool “to make good people through sport” .

Gallardo has recognized that sports facilities cannot be built everywhere, which is why it is intended to reach every corner with alternatives such as this itinerant track.

In it, in addition, there will be room for minority sports and sports disciplines. In fact, for many boys and girls it will be their first approach to badminton, parkour, volleyball, petanque, hockey… And there will be no shortage of the most popular modalities, such as 3×3 basketball, 3×3 futsal…

In short, as he has said, “one more innovation for the benefit of the most rural”. An initiative, by the way, that has been seen ‘in situ’ by a representation of the MARCA newspaper to replicate it in other parts of Spain.

In addition, the provincial president has taken advantage of his presence in Monesterio to confirm the commitment of the Diputación de Badajoz with a view to making the artificial turf football field in this town “become a reality as soon as possible”.

An announcement that thanked the mayor of Monasterio, Antonio Garrote, who has stated that the presence of this sports court these days in the municipality “involves the socialization” of all the children and young people who use it.
In fact, there have been many boys and girls who were able to test it this afternoon and do the different assembled circuits, under the supervision of monitors.

The Urban Sport track is removable and modular. Its dimensions are 16 meters long by 10 meters wide. Modules can be adapted.

It will be 4 days working in the different locations, plus one day of assembly and another of disassembly. With methacrylate walls, public address system and stands.

Before summer, the Diputación will bring it closer to 10 towns: Monesterio, Bodonal de la Sierra, Fuente de Cantos, Fuente del Maestre, Arroyo de San Serván, Mirandilla, Guareña, Castuera, Campillo de Llerena and Granja de Torrehermosa. And after the summer, it will go to another ten municipalities, attending to the requests received.
