The III South American Youth Games will begin next Thursday 28 in Rosario

The III South American Youth Games that had to be suspended last year due to the coronavirus pandemic will take place from next Thursday May 28 to Sunday May 8 in Rosario, with the participation of athletes between 14 and 17 years old, under the comptroller of the South American Sports Organization (Odesur).

The two previous editions were held in the capitals of Peru and Chile, the first in September 2013 in Lima and the second between September 29 and October 8, 2017 in Santiago.

For this third edition, more than 1,500 athletes representing 15 countries are expected in Rosario, who will participate in 25 disciplines, and unlike the previous two, the format will vary, since it will take place in a sports center that will take place in the Parque de la Independencia, where, among others, the Newell’s Old Boys stadium is located.

The expectations for these eleven days of competition is that approximately one million spectators pass through the wide sports space. There will also be a single award center that will work in the Fan Fest of the Oroño Corridor.

The 15 countries participating in this event will be Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Curaçao, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The representatives of these countries will compete in these 25 disciplines: Athletics, Badminton, Beach Handball, 3×3 Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Climbing, Fencing, Futsal, Artistic Gymnastics, Hockey 5, Judo, Karate, Weightlifting, Olympic Wrestling, Swimming, Figure Skating, Speed ​​Skating, Rugby 7, Skateboarding, Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Archery and Triathlon.

The eight competition scenarios detailed by the organization will be the Hippodrome,

La Rural, Paseo 21 (Oroño and 27 de Febrero, in Parque de la Independencia), the

Jorge Newbery Municipal Stadium, Parque Independencia Lake, Newell’s Old Boys Club and the Pool Complex.
