The 1st stage of the Latvian motocross championship will be held in Aizpute on April 17 – Motor sports – Car – TVNET

The Latvian motocross championship this year includes five stages, the first of which will take place on April 17 in Aizpute on the Misiņkalns moto track. The rest will be organized within the framework of the “Vaidava Cup” on the Ape track, as well as in Dobele, Aloja and Cēsis, where the grand final is expected again.

Local talents such as Kārlis Alberts Reišulis (SK “Elkšņi”), Kārlis Sabulis (Mx Moduls), Toms Macuks (MX Rodeo), Mairis Pumpurs (Mx Moduls), Kristers Drevinskis (Mx Rodeo), Uldis Freibergs plan to take part in this championship in solo classes. (FFF), Markuss Kokins (MX Moduls), Leons Kozlovskis (Mx Ādaži), Jānis Mārtiņš Riešulis (KTM Motofacvorits), Edvards Bidzāns, Tomass Šaicāns (MX Rodeo), as well as other fastest local and foreign drivers. The crews of Māris Rupeiks / Kaspars Liepiņš, Didža Gorbenko / Elvija Muceniekis (Rambas-R), as well as the young talents of the Melbārži brothers and other sidecar drivers will take care of the intrigues in the side cars. Matīss Palēvics (Mx Rodeo) and Kārlis Neija (KTM Motofavortīts) will demonstrate the highest mastery in the quads, which will be overtaken by other fastest quadricycle riders in Latvia from the leading positions. It is possible that the multiple European champion Kevin Saar will also start in the ATV class.

As usual, athletes will compete not only for medals, the Isover Starting King award and individual points, but also for the title of the leading motocross team. Last year, the Ventspils-based Rodeo MX team won the title in the overall standings.

“Sometimes the title is easier to fight than to protect it, and without sporting success it is not possible in any variant. Our task this season is to keep the title. Will it be easy? I think not, because there is a lot of competition and the economic situation in the country is quite complicated, which is causing problems in the current situation. It is much more difficult to organize training, which can also cause technical problems. However, it is a technical sport, so how it will be put together will largely determine the end result, ”says Arvis Sanders, head of the MX Rodeo club.

It is expected that this season, the fiercest competition for the Rodeo Club Cup of the season’s leading club will be held by the Riga-based Moduls MX.

For the last five or six years, one of our biggest competitors has been the club Moduls MX, which is preparing for the season very seriously. There is a very good relationship between our clubs, we can talk, but they are the most serious candidates for the title and therefore they should be treated with the utmost respect. All clubs are expected to be strong at the beginning of the season, but I think the hardest part will be at the end of the season, when the last points will be played. Then the fate of the titles will be decided. The beginning is not the end. It’s hard to predict what the season will be like, but it’s probably full of interesting and unexpected events, most importantly without injuries! ” believes Sanders.

In the evaluation of Latvian clubs in 2021, the 1st place was won by Ventspils motorcycle club “Rodeo”, the second – “Salaca Cup”, and the third – “Rmabas R”.
