Ländle judoka girls won gold and silver at the state championships.

Dornbirn/Hohenems. Seven Vorarlberg judokas recently traveled to the federal capital to get places and maybe even medals at the U16 state championships with a total of 206 starters from all over Austria. They competed in six different weight classes in the Kurt Kucera Halle: Amelie Ender (UJC Dornbirn) and Johanna Lamprecht (Judoclub Hohenems), -52 kg; Tatevik Minasyan (Judoclub Hohenems), -48 kg; Matteo Gruber (UJC Dornbirn), -55 kg; Carlo Kohler (Judo Union Feldkirch), – 60 kg; Nadir Sungurov (UJC Dornbirn), -66 kg and Johanna Nöckl (UJC Dornbirn), +70 kg.

Johanna Nöckl still lost her opening fight, but then really got going and was able to defeat all other opponents. The silver medal was thus safe for her and with it the deserved Vice State Champion title. Tatevik Minasyan started with a bye and won her pool, putting her in the finals group and capturing gold there.

Matteo Gruber and Carlo Kohler were also pool winners, but lost their fights there and, with a lot of bad luck, only got “Blech”. Nadir Sungurov was also able to qualify for the bronze medal match via the consolation round, but lost like the others and finished 5th in the end. For Amelie Ender and Johanna Lamprecht there was nothing to get this time, neither of them made it past the first round.

The U21 national championship took place in the same hall on Sunday. Here the two Hohenems girls fought for medals. Hilal Yildirim (-44 kg) only had two opponents, one she could defeat, so her silver was safe. Tatevik Minasyan (-48kg) was able to qualify for the small final via the consolation round, but lost the decisive fight and finally took 5th place. Dornbirn’s Pia Milz (-63 kg) did not get past the 1st round, as did Abdul Rachim (-60 kg) Khastaev, Sheikh Aliev (-73 kg). They also failed in the 2nd round. (cth)
