Rincón de la Victoria hosts the Andalusian Children’s and Cadet Judo Championship in the Rubén Ruzafa pavilion

Rincón de la Victoria once again reiterates its commitment to the different sports disciplines by hosting a new competition in Andalusia for children’s and cadet judo, as announced by the Councilor for Sports, Antonio José Martín (PP). The facilities of the Rubén Ruzafa municipal covered pavilion will be the stage to celebrate the championship on April 2 and 3 at 12:00 p.m., «with more than 300 participants between the ages of 12 and 17 belonging to 44 clubs with representation from all the Andalusian provinces.

The mayor of Rincon, Francisco Salado (PP), has highlighted “the important impact that the municipality is acquiring by hosting regional and national sports competitions that place us as a venue and sports city.” “Collaborating and supporting sporting events in our municipality represents a great media projection, and therefore a showcase to attract visitors,” he adds.

The sports director of the Andalusian Judo Federation in Andalusia, Moisés Mayi, highlighted that “it is the second time in a row that Rincón de la Victoria hosts this official judo competition. The Torre de Benagalbón pavilion has the perfect conditions for its celebration and from the City Council they offer us all the support and collaboration that we need».

In addition, Mayi has pointed out that “this year two Malagans participate in the children’s category by the ONCE Foundation who compete under the same conditions as the rest of the players.” The Andalusian Junior and Cadet Judo Championship in the male and female categories will start at 12:00. On day 2 the cadets will compete, and on day 3, the child categories. The appointment is qualifying for the national championship to be held in Pamplona from April 29 to May 1. Tickets to attend as a public are free and the judo matches can be followed live on the Youtube channels of the Judo Federation.
